11-12 March: “Astronomy Days” in Flanders

On Friday and Saturday 11 and 12 March 2016 we have the yearly Astronomy days. Come and visit the activities in Hoegaarden, at the castle of the Sint-Janscollege  (free admittance) (Waversesteenweg 1, 3320 Meldert).

Each day freely accessible from 19hrs onwards.

Observations of the Moon, Jupiter and other celestial bodies with a whole battery of telescopes. Listen to the fireplace stories under the stars and the universe when cloudy.

On Friday: “Journey through the Universe” a digital interactive planetarium projection

On Saturday: “Child’s cosmos” an interactive discovery game for children age 6-12 on stellar topics ( from 19hrs15-21hrs)

Starparty February 13 canceled due to weather

Because of the 100% cloud cover this Starparty is canceled. Next opportunity for observing are the “Astronomy days” that take place March 11 and 12th at the Sint-Janscollege in Meldert, Hoegaarden. Keep an eye on this website.

 

Next Thursday February 18th monthly meeting in ‘t Paenhuys, Hoegaarden @ 20hrs with a presentation by Raoul Lannoye on the Walloon association for astronomy. Free admittance!

Astronomy for beginners: new course in Tienen

You can join a brand new course as from Tuesday January 26th. Courses take place at Tuesdays in the cc. De Kuisboog at Tienen (Torsinplein). Cost of the 5 lessons is 50€.

Each lesson will dive into another piece of our univers and also one lesson will be dedicated to observing and optical instruments.

No prior knowledge required.
